October Full Moon ("Supermoon")
Monday, 06 Oct 2025
20:30-22:00
Objective: Locate the Apollo 11 landing sites.
We'll take photos of this month's full Moon and try to locate the Apollo 11 landing sites. We may have more luck a few days after the full Moon as the craters close to the landing site may not appear clearly when the Moon is fully lit.
Observe the Moon Night

Join TRAC for NASA's annual International Observe the Moon Night on Saturday, 04 October in Ryetop Park from 19:30 onwards.
Neptune Opposition
Saturday, 20 Sep 2025
20:45-21:45
We will attempt to locate Neptune. The planet is positioned close to Saturn. We'll start by aiming the telescope at Saturn then we'll use the star chart printouts to make our way to Neptune.
Neptune will reach opposition on 23 Sep. It's high in the sky, but we've never seen it so it's hard to know what to expect.
