General Information
Witness a Rare Lunar Eclipse
During this total lunar eclipse, the Earth, Moon, and Sun will be in alignment. Watch the Moon rise in the east at 19:30. It will be in the shadow of Earth, which will cause it to look red – that's why it's called a "Blood Moon"!

The Weather
To see the eclipse, we need a cloud-free view eastwards towards Sittingbourne.
The event will not go ahead if it's cloudy or if there's a high chance of rain.
A go/no-go decision will be made at 16:00 on the day of the eclipse and published on this page.
16:00 Weather Update
The forecast for this evening isn't looking good. Widespread cloud cover is predicted, but we might get lucky. We'll be ready for the eclipse in Ryetop Park at 19:30 if you want to join us, though our chance of success is low.
Information for Parents
Children are welcome to come along and watch this exciting lunar eclipse with us.
Wrap up warm! It can get very chilly after the sun goes down.
Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or responsible adult. Young children will need to be closely supervised at all times.

Parking: Limited street parking is available. Please avoid parking in Beacon Close – the road is narrow, and parking is restricted (double-yellow lines) near the park entrance.
