Globular Cluster M13

M13 is the brightest globular cluster in the northern hemisphere. It's described as "truly a spectacular sight even in small telescopes".

We'll assess whether M13 is a viable candidate for photography.

Tonight, the Moon will rise around one hour later so it will appear against a darker sky.

It should also be possible for us to spot the red supergiant star Antares above the Moon to the south.

This month's Full Moon (mag. -12.1) will appear very low in the sky. It will be the lowest Full Moon in 19 years. Here in Rainham, the Moon will only reach a maximum altitude of roughly 10 degrees.
